my AFK does not issue pledged contributory grants. For example, we would not pledge £2500 towards a £6000 powerchair that is valid for a time limited period, whilst the family fundraise the outstanding £3500.

However, we do encourage families to contribute as much as possible to the cost of the equipment they are applying for by securing grants from a range of organisations. The balance might change and reduce over time as the families own fundraising brings in more funds.

We support families with their own fundraising efforts, for example by advising them about crowdfunding pages, completing applications to Trusts (if they have not applied to them already), or by writing to local charities such as branches of Lions and Round Table.
